Challenges
Karachi, the largest city in Pakistan, faces numerous health challenges. The city’s rapid population growth has strained its healthcare infrastructure, leading to overcrowded hospitals and limited access to quality medical care. Karachi also grapples with high rates of infectious diseases, including waterborne illnesses and communicable diseases. Non-communicable diseases such as diabetes and cardiovascular ailments are on the rise, highlighting the need for improved preventive healthcare measures.
Our Solution
The medical camp in Karachi is dedicated to addressing the healthcare challenges faced by an underserved community in the region. Its primary objective is to provide immediate medical assistance, diagnosis, and treatment to individuals who lack regular access to healthcare facilities. The camp will offer general medical check-ups, diagnostic tests, and free medicines, while also emphasizing the importance of preventive measures and hygiene practices. By directly bringing healthcare services to the community, the Karachi medical camp aims to overcome barriers such as distance and limited accessibility. Patients requiring surgeries or other treatments will be registered with Transparent Hands and referred to our network of hospitals. Support Our Upcoming Medical Camps
Transparent Hands successfully organized a free medical camp and preventive healthcare session, ensuring the provision of top-notch healthcare services to underprivileged patients. This took place at Fine Daily, Sindh Industrial Trading Estate, Karachi, on the 23rd of November 2023.
Free Consultations, Medicines, and Diagnostic Tests
A total of 285 deserving patients were provided with free consultations by expert doctors at the medical camp. They also received complementary medicines, diabetes tests, hepatitis B and C screenings, Malaria screenings, cholesterol, and blood pressure check-ups, all provided at no cost. Additionally, a total of 48 diagnostic tests were also provided.
Diseases and Treatments
Most of the patients who sought consultation were suffering from fever, cough, flu, seasonal allergies, chest infection, migraine, scabies, gastric trouble, abdominal pain, body weakness, and pain.
Impact
The successful organization of the free medical camp and preventive healthcare session had a tremendous impact on the lives of 285 deserving patients and their families. During the medical camp, expert doctors conducted free consultations for various ailments. The patients also received free diagnostic tests and medicines.
