Bring Preventive Healthcare to Mothers and Children in Karachi
Transparent Hands is organizing a free medical camp and preventive healthcare session for the most deserving mothers and children in Karachi. This medical camp is part of our recently launched Maternal and Child Health initiative, which is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially SDG 3 that aims to ensure good health and well-being. In many underserved areas of Karachi, women and children are unable to access even the most basic healthcare services. Through this medical camp, we aim to provide them with the much-needed medical care to live healthier and more fulfilling lives.
Challenges
Karachi is home to millions of people, yet a large number of the population continues to face difficulties in accessing quality healthcare. Underprivileged mothers often go without necessary gynecological care, while children suffer due to inadequate nutrition and lack of timely medical attention. As a result, preventable health conditions among women and children remain largely unaddressed in Karachi.
In Sindh, Pakistan, the maternal mortality rate is estimated at 214 per 100,000 births, The infant mortality rate is 39 deaths per 1,000 live births, with an under-5 mortality rate of 46 deaths per 1,000 live births. These statistics highlight the need to strengthen maternal healthcare services and improve health outcomes for underprivileged communities in Karachi.
Solution
To address this growing issue, Transparent Hands is stepping forward with a comprehensive plan. The upcoming medical camp in Karachi will provide a wide range of healthcare services to meet the needs of mothers and children. Our goal is to reach those who need healthcare the most and make a positive impact on their lives. By providing necessary healthcare services, we hope to break the cycle of poor health outcomes and empower families to build a better future. Our medical professionals, including gynecologists, pediatricians, lab technicians, and volunteers, will provide the following services:

Preventive Healthcare Session
