We Brought Preventive Healthcare to Mothers and Children in Karachi
Transparent Hands organized a free medical camp and preventive healthcare session, for deserving mothers and children at Ramzan Lasi Goth Community Center, Near Momin Masjid Chaman Colony, Khokhrapar No 5, Malir, Karachi. The primary objective of this camp held on February 12, 2025, was to improve maternal and child health in Karachi through free healthcare.
Services Provided
A total of 566 deserving patients received free consultations from our specialists, including a gynecologist, a child specialist, and a nutritionist. Along with gynecological check-ups, nutritional assessments, and consultations, the patients were provided with free medicines and received various medical services including:
- Nutritional screenings for children
- BMI calculation
- Ultrasound scans for women
- Consultations with a pediatrician
- Gynecological check-ups for women
- Blood sugar tests
- Hemoglobin Tests
- Hepatitis Screenings
- Blood Pressure check-ups

In addition to the medical services, one of our expert doctors held a preventive healthcare session to educate the attendees about maintaining a healthy diet and personal hygiene for mothers and children.
Impact
This free medical camp made a significant impact on the lives of 566 deserving patients and their families in Karachi. Many needy mothers were suffering from pregnancy-related issues, and children were experiencing nutrition and growth-related issues. This medical camp addressed many of their health concerns and played a role in bringing Pakistan closer to achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially SDG 3. Mothers and children received consultations, lab tests, and medicines.
Moreover, a preventive healthcare session equipped residents with knowledge about how to maintain personal hygiene and a healthy diet. We are incredibly grateful to you for supporting us. You made a lasting impact on the lives of the needy in Karachi.
