Free Medical Camp for the Transgender Community in Shah Noor Sabzazar, Lahore by Transparent Hands
Transparent Hands organized a free medical camp on December 28, 2019, in Shah Noor Sabzazar, Lahore for the transgender community. In this medical camp, free healthcare services were provided to the deserving people of the transgender community living in the surrounding areas.
Following facilities were offered to the patients:
- Free Consultation
- Free Blood Pressure Test
- Free Diabetes Test
- Free Hepatitis B & C Screening Test
- Free Medicines
- Free Registration of Deserving patients for Surgeries and Medical Procedures
The camp was managed by a team of 9 members. These included 1 supervisor, 1 doctor, 2 lab technologists, 1 pharmacist, 1 patient registrar, 1 photographer, and 2 crew workers. The doctor and the para-medical staff examined 46 patients free of cost. Among the patients, 4 were found to be hepatitis positive.
The objective of this camp was to provide free quality healthcare to the marginalized transgender community in Lahore. The director of Sathi foundation, a foundation for the promotion of trans community welfare in Pakistan, highly appreciated this initiative. Transparent Hands hopes to organize many such camps in the future to facilitate the underprivileged, deserving patients of Pakistan.
