Transparent Hands recently organized a transformative medical camp and preventive healthcare session aimed at providing essential healthcare services to impoverished patients on December 21, 2023. This initiative took place at Unit 04, Soorty Enterprises, Federal B Area, Karachi.

Comprehensive Medical Services Provided

A total of 487 deserving patients received comprehensive consultations with expert doctors during the medical camp. Additionally, essential medications, diabetes tests, hepatitis B & C screenings, malaria tests, CBC, hemoglobin tests, liver function tests (LFT), renal function tests (RFT), ultrasounds, and blood pressure check-ups were administered free of charge.

Focus on Preventive Healthcare: Personal Hygiene Session

Expert doctors conducted an informative session focusing on personal hygiene during the medical camp in FB Area, Karachi. The session emphasized the impact of personal hygiene on health and highlighted effective practices to improve it, aiming to prevent health issues caused by poor hygiene habits.

Common Ailments and Treatments

The majority of patients seeking consultation presented various health concerns such as skin allergies, fever, diabetes, body pains, hypertension, gastric problems, cough, flu, and weakness. Free medications were dispensed to a substantial number of deserving patients. Notably, approximately 3% of tested patients were diagnosed with hepatitis B.

Impact and Support

The free medical camp held at Unit 04, Soorty Enterprises, Federal B Area, Karachi positively impacted the lives of 487 deserving patients and their families. This endeavor was made possible through the generous support of numerous donors dedicated to Transparent Hands’ mission of extending quality healthcare to impoverished, remote, and rural areas nationwide.

The medical camp operated efficiently with an 18-member team comprising one supervisor, four doctors (two female and two male), one nurse, three lab technicians, four pharmacists, and six patient registration personnel.
